Meet Esther, Nigeria’s youngest lawyer

Esther Ebubenna Nwadike, a 20-year-old Nigerian, has become the youngest lawyer in Africa after her call to the Nigerian Bar as a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

Esther’s journey to becoming a lawyer was not without challenges. When she was 13 years old, she completed her Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) with flying colours but was denied admission into Abia State University (ABSU) in Nigeria because of her age. In response, her supportive father sent her to India to secure her law degree.

Upon her return to Nigeria, Esther wrote the Bar Part 1 programme, which is compulsory for all students from foreign universities, before eventually passing the Bar final exam.

Overjoyed with her accomplishment, Esther expressed gratitude to her parents, friends, and well-wishers for their support throughout her journey. She credited her success to the Lord and gushed, “Wow, finally this young one can now be referred to as BARRISTER ESTHER EBUBENNA NWADIKE (E. E. Nwadike Esq … Barrister and Solicitor Of the Supreme Court of Nigeria).” This she shared on her social media page.

Esther’s achievement has inspired many young Nigerians who face similar challenges to pursue their dreams despite obstacles. She has shown that with determination, hard work, and support, anything is possible.
