MFM G.O receives honourary doctor of science degree

Professor Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries and Chancellor of Mountain Top University, has been honoured with an honourary degree of Doctor of Science in Genetics and Biotechnology by the Lagos State University (LASU).

The announcement of this distinguished recognition was made in a congratulatory message obtained by Tribune Online on Thursday.

“This well-deserved honor bestowed upon Dr. Olukoya is a testament to his lifelong dedication to serving God and humanity. As a renowned author, teacher, and preacher, his impactful work has positively influenced the lives of millions of individuals worldwide,” expressed the church in a Facebook post.

The post further added, “Dr. Olukoya’s research in genetics and biotechnology has yielded significant contributions to the field, enhancing our understanding of diseases and their treatment. Moreover, he has pioneered groundbreaking technologies that possess the potential to revolutionize our way of life.”

“We take great pride in having Dr. Olukoya as our founder and express gratitude for his numerous contributions to the church and society. We extend heartfelt congratulations to him for this well-deserved honor and eagerly anticipate his continued endeavors in the years ahead. May God continue to bless and prosper Dr. Olukoya, utilizing him to impact the lives of others.”

Olukoya achieved a first-class honours degree in Microbiology from the University of Lagos in 1980. In 1984, he obtained his doctoral degree (PhD) in Molecular Genetics from the esteemed University of Reading in the United Kingdom, setting a record for completing his studies swiftly.

Subsequently, he served as a Genetics lecturer at the University of Lagos and acted as an external examiner for several universities both within and outside Nigeria.
