The peaceful town of Mokwa has been plunged into deep mourning following the shocking and tragic death of one of its most respected educators, Mallam Mohammed Abubakar Tayi.

The late Mallam Tayi, a teacher renowned for his humility, kindness, and jovial nature, was reportedly stabbed to death early this morning along Abattoir Road in Mokwa.

The brutal incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, leaving residents devastated and in disbelief.

Eyewitnesses say the attack happened suddenly, with little warning or opportunity for intervention. The identity of the assailant and the motive behind the killing remain unclear at the time of reporting.

Mallam Tayi was not just an educator but a role model whose strong sense of discipline and moral conduct earned him admiration and respect among students, fellow teachers, and residents. He was described as someone who “touched lives with simplicity and sincerity.”

“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un,” mourned a local elder, invoking the Islamic prayer said when someone passes away, reflecting the collective grief and spiritual submission to God’s will.

Community members have taken to social media and local gathering points to express their condolences and call for swift justice. Many described the late teacher as “a gem lost too soon” and “a man who lived for others.”

Authorities have yet to issue an official statement, but local security forces are said to be investigating the matter urgently.
