The Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Higher Institution, Moses Orimolade University, located in Omu-Aran, Kwara State, is now 80 percent complete and expected to commence academic activities by 2026.

This was disclosed by Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi, Founder of Love of Christ Generation Church and Chairperson of the Centenary Anniversary Steering Committee, during the C&S Unification Centenary Lecture held in Lagos on Monday.

Mother Ajayi described the project as a milestone achievement of the church, highlighting its importance in shaping future leaders through both intellectual and moral development.

“The university will not only provide academic excellence but also serve as a buffer against declining moral values, instilling in students the values orientation needed to advance society,” she said.

She added that the C&S Church, in its 100-year journey, has been committed to remodelling holiness in daily conduct, and this ethos would be central to the university’s mission of grooming disciplined, value-driven graduates.

Ajayi emphasized the global vision of the church, noting that education is key to its evangelistic mission.

“We are setting up institutions and structures to advance bridge-building in the world. A renewed C&S inspires generations to rediscover their roots. Through schools, we will groom bold minds who can take the gospel to Europe, the West, and beyond, correcting anomalies that threaten humanity,” she stated.

She also urged members yet to align with the C&S Unification to do so in order to fully benefit from the university and other church-driven initiatives.

A Call for Renewal and Global Relevance

Delivering the centenary lecture titled “Cherubim and Seraphim at 100: Critical Assessment of its Mandate, Impact, and Future Trajectory”, Bishop Stephen Adegite, Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, described the milestone as a divine testimony of African Christianity’s resilience.

He acknowledged the church’s spiritual, social, and cultural contributions over the past century and called on the C&S to re-emphasize holiness, prophetic witness, and contextual worship while shedding practices that “confuse rather than clarify the gospel.”

“The next century belongs to the digital generation. For the C&S to thrive, it must embrace technology, youth-focused media, and creative evangelism. Investment in theological education is also key to systematizing C&S doctrine, providing intellectual depth and apologetic strength against criticism,” Adegite stressed.

He further urged the church to embody its prophetic role in addressing Nigeria’s challenges of corruption, poverty, and injustice.

Forging Unity for the Future

The supreme head of the C&S, His Most Eminence Dr. Prophet Solomon Alao, explained that the centenary lecture was designed to inspire unity within the church.

“We cannot agree on all issues, but we must agree on give and take. The relevance of this lecture is to open our eyes and encourage us to forge a united C&S church,” he said.

Centenary Celebrations Ahead

The grand centenary celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Seraphim Land, Maba, Ogun State.

Moses Orimolade University, named after the church’s founder, is strategically located about 5km from Landmark University, Omu-Aran, and is envisioned as a hub for academic excellence and moral rebirth.
