The National Association Of Campus Journalists, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (NACJ-UDUS) chapter has given a 48-hour ultimatum to the resigned chairman of Students’ Union Caretaker Committee (SU-CTC) to handover the Union’s Properties to the CTC vice chairman.
The president of the Campus Journalists, Abdulwasiu Olokooba gave the directive on the National Association Of Campus Journalist official WhatsApp platform, shortly after CTC Chairman, Mohammad Shamsudeen Umar tendered his resignation letter.
The President’s directive is in line with the revised 2020/2021 academic session student’s handbook.
ARTICLE XIII (1e) reads thus: “In the event that the president/speaker resigns or was impeached, he/she shall handover the documents/monies, properties of the Union to the vice-president/Deputy speaker within forty-eight (48) hours, and if the whole excos resigns, to the Dean of Students Affairs.”
“The campus journalists are known for their accountability and to ensure that the values of society are properly delivered. In line with this, we called on Shamsudeen Umar to properly hand over the students’ union properties within the next forty-eight (48) hours,” said the president.
