National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has condemned the gruesome murder of Mojisola Awesu, a 21-year-old student of the Kwara State College of Health Technology, calling for a thorough investigation to unravel those behind the heinous crime.
NANS Senate President, Mr Henry Okunomo, made this known in a statement signed on Tuesday, in Kano.
It be recalled that her lifeless body was discovered at a refuse dump in the Aleniboro area of Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
“We urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation, following all leads and ensuring that those responsible are brought to book.
“The silence of the authorities is deafening, and we will not stand idly by while the lives of Nigerian students are treated with such disregard.
“We call on the Kwara State Government to take concrete steps to address the growing insecurity and violence in the state, particularly against students. The safety and well-being of students must be prioritised.
“We stand in solidarity with Mojisola’s family, friends, and the entire student community in Kwara. We will continue to demand justice and push for a safer Nigeria for all,” the statement partly read.
