The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS), at its last national convention in Minna, Niger State, has appointed Chief James Ume as the national patron of the association.
It described Ume’s recognition as a testament to his remarkable contributions to education, particularly polytechnic education and youth development, which demonstrated his compassion, resilience and commitment to transforming lives.
A statement by NAPS National President, Com. Oyewumi Festus, hailed Ume for his good deeds, acknowledging his efforts in empowering youths and promoting education.
According to NAPS president, Ume’s philanthropic endeavours such as Unubiko Foundation, has made significant impact on the lives of many students.
He urged Ume and other philanthropists to contribute their quota to the development of the nation.
He said: “Your efforts are crucial in shaping the future of our youths and promoting education as a tool for national growth and development.
“Once again, we congratulate Chief Ume on his well-deserved appointment as the national patron of NAPS. We look forward to working with him to advance the interests of polytechnic students in Nigeria.”
