The new Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria, Prof. Ndubisi Ogbogbo, has officially assumed office with a commitment to driving academic excellence through the 3-H principle of education.

Speaking shortly after taking the oath of office at the university’s campus on Wednesday in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Ogbogbo expressed his vision for the institution.

He stated, “It is with great humility and profound gratitude that I stand before you today, honoured to accept the role of Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University of Nigeria.

“As we gather to mark the beginning of this new chapter, my vision for ADUN is to nurture a university that is locally impactful and internationally competitive.

“My mission is to further consolidate the foundations of this institution for sustained growth and development. Achieving this will require the courage to reconfigure our academic tradition, eliminating ineffective and unproductive ideas while embracing meaningful innovation.

“ADUN must cultivate and be defined by a tradition of academic excellence based on the 3-H principle of education—our heads, hearts, and hands working in unison to deliver value to our stakeholders.”

The new VC called on principal officers, faculty, staff, and students to take responsibility in building a scholarly community known for cutting-edge knowledge production and dissemination. He also pledged to prioritize their welfare.

Earlier, the Registrar of the university, Commodore Isaac Mankilik (retd.), described the occasion as a historic moment for ADUN.

He congratulated Ogbogbo on his appointment, describing it as a testament to his academic prowess, visionary leadership, and commitment to higher education.

Mankilik expressed confidence that under Ogbogbo’s leadership, the university would reach greater heights and achieve remarkable milestones.

He also affirmed that due process was followed in the selection of the new VC, in line with the ADUN Establishment Act of 2022 and federal government regulations.
