Nigerian emerges as first professor in Arabic linguistics at Islamic University of Madinah

Professor Abdulganiy Isa, hailing from the family of Late Alhaji Isa Oyarekhua in Jattu-Uzairue, Etsako West LGA of Edo state, has been officially recognized as the first Nigerian Professor of Arabic Linguistics.

The prestigious title was conferred upon him by the Faculty of Arabic Language and Humanities at the Islamic University of Madinah in Saudi Arabia.

The news of Professor Isa’s academic feat has ignited jubilations within Islamic communities across Nigeria.

Expressing their gratitude to Almighty Allah for this remarkable accomplishment, members of Professor Isa’s family in Jattu-Uzairue emphasized the rare honour bestowed upon the Oyarekhua family.

The confirmation of their son as the inaugural professor of Arabic linguistics from Nigeria brings immense pride and distinction to their community.

Sheikh Ibrahim Oyarekhua, Chairman of the Edo state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board and a representative of the family, conveyed thanks to Allah for blessing Nigeria with a scholar of Arabic Linguistics. He extended appreciation to the nation for its prayers and support, highlighting the significance of this achievement for both the Oyarekhua family and the entire Nigerian community.

Sheikh Ibrahim further asserted that Abdulganiy Isa’s academic victory paints a true portrait of the Oyarekhua family’s dedication to education.

The family’s legacy, he emphasized, will forever be etched in the annals of Nigerian academia, marking a momentous occasion that will be remembered for generations to come.
