The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced the nationwide examination for candidates seeking admission into various tertiary institutions in the country. Students who sat the first batch of the exam at JKK Ilupeju and One ICT center Yaba have confirmed that the examination has started.
Speaking with Edugist, some of the students expressed their enthusiasm about the exam. One of the students said, “I got to my center around 5:00 am this morning in the company of my parents. I am elated and optimistic about passing the exam.”
Another student expressed her excitement, saying, “The exam took my nights of burning midnight oil, but I am ready to take on the challenge.”
The nationwide examination, which is a prerequisite for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, is expected to continue for several weeks. The examination covers subjects such as English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Economics, and Literature-in-English.
JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, had earlier announced that the board was ready to conduct the examination in compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols. He urged candidates to adhere strictly to the guidelines put in place by the board to ensure a hitch-free examination process.
As the examination continues across the country, candidates are encouraged to remain calm and focused, and to adhere to all safety protocols in place to ensure a smooth and successful examination process.
The second batch has commenced 6:30am this morning with our reporters visiting centers across Ilupeju and Mushin environs.
