NYSC swears in 1,869 corps members in Osun

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State has officially sworn in 1,869 new corps members as part of the 2024 Batch A Stream II service year.

During the ceremony at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ede, Director General Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed urged the incoming members to embrace their service with a strong sense of dedication, commitment, and responsibility.

Dogara reminded the corps members that as future leaders, their experience during the service year would shape their contributions to the wider society.
Represented by the Osun NYSC State Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, General Ahmed urged the corps members to use the opportunity to make a positive impact in their communities.

“As you undergo your Orientation Course here in Osun State, I encourage you to immerse yourselves in the rich culture and traditions of this land.
“Osun State is known for its warmth, hospitality and cultural heritage, and I am confident that you will find your stay here rewarding and enriching,” he said.

He also charged the corps members to view the orientation course as an investment in personal and national growth since it served as a catalyst for positive change and empowerment.

Earlier, Governor Ademola Adeleke, represented by the Commissioner for Youths Affairs, Moshood Olagunju, urged the corps members to embrace all the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the people of the state.

While encouraging the corps members to immerse themselves in the local communities and learn their experiences, Adeleke assured the corps members of the state government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring their welfare and security throughout their service year.

“Remember that you are ambassadors of peace, unity and progress.
“Embrace the diversity of our nation, respect the values of tolerance and understanding and work tirelessly towards building a better future for all Nigerians,” he stated.
