Offa Poly charges staff on punctuality, dedication

The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, Kamoru Kadiri, has charged the staff of the institution on punctuality and dedication.

The rector maintained that the institution must work in all shades of development, staff productive capacity, staff welfare, aggressive infrastructural development, and re-channeling of the academic programme and culture.

Kadiri said this at the inaugural meeting with the staff assembly at the institution’s main campus.

Kadiri noted that his appointment is a test of his competency, technical know-how, and proficiency, in a press statement issued by the polytechnic’s Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocols, Olayinka Iroye.

He said, “The era of hypotheses, conjectures, and postulations has gone by.

“It is now the period of workability and viability. It is now the era of pragmatism, the era of practicality. Hence, the promulgation of the four-word slogan for my administration ‘The System Must Work.’

“I am of the strong conviction that all of us are desirous of seeing that the system works for the better.”

Speaking on discipline, Kadiri pledged to lead by example, equity, and fairness in compliance with Polytechnic Act, and extant rules.

He charged the staff on punctuality, dedication, and commitment to duty as driving forces to progress and institutional development.

While emphasising discipline, he sternly frowns against absenteeism, levity, and insubordination as factors capable of undermining institutional growth.

He, therefore, promised to make staff welfare his utmost priority and enjoined staff to table convincing demands with diplomacy and pragmatism rather than a smear campaign of calumny and defamation.

Earlier, the Chairman Governing Council, Bokani Ahmed, represented by Alao Kamoru, congratulated the rector and admonished him to work with the union and operate an open-door policy.

He urged staff to cooperate with the new administration for the progress and development of the polytechnic.
