Olaitan Zainab Emerges UNILAG Debate Champion

As I updated you yesterday, at exactly 11:37am today the fourth edition of the University of Lagos officially commenced with six smart and well articulated students dazzling a cheering audience of students and staff of the university and members of the public to a keenly contested intellectual and oratorical battle on the topic: The 2015 Election will Make or Mar Nigeria.

The six students MUHAMMED, A. Oladipupo (Faculty of Art), NDIFON, M. Cornelia (Basic Medical Sciences), ONORIODE, Afunezie O. M. (Faculty of Engineering), DASAOLU, Olawale (Law), OKONGBOWA, Ayokunle (Faculty of Science), and OLAITAN, Zainab Monisola (Faculty of Social Science) spoke in two rounds of 10minutes and 5minutes respectively. Muhammed, Ndifon and Olaitan spoke against the topic while Onoriode, Dasaolu, and Okongbowa spoke for the topic.

The assessment cum score criteria included: content(30marks), appearance (10), persuasion (25), Fluency/diction (25), Poise (5) and time management (5).

After the battle, as expected, a winner must emerge! And it was OLAITAN, Zainab Monisola of the Faculty of Social Science. Congrat girl.
