Ondo state governor rebuilds over 800 public primary schools

In a bid to improve access to qualitative education in Ondo State, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has reconstructed over 800 public primary schools in the past six years. The schools, which were dilapidated , and neglected by the previous administration, led to a decline in enrollment.

Governor Akeredolu’s administration took a significant step in 2017 when he assumed office to revamp the state’s education system. The reconstruction of the primary schools was one of the key projects initiated by his administration, aimed at providing a conducive learning environment for the pupils.

The reconstructed schools now have perimeter fences, ICT centers, and playgroup equipment, while the pupils enjoy modern desks and chairs procured by the government. The governor’s efforts have also resulted in the recruitment of one thousand two hundred (1,200) teachers in the public primary schools, improving the teacher-to-pupil ratio and enhancing the quality of education.

The reconstructed schools have become a source of joy for both teachers and pupils, who now teach and learn in a comfortable and conducive environment.
