Ondo state governor rebuilds over 800 public primary schools

In a bid to improve access to qualitative education in Ondo State, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has reconstructed over 800 public primary schools in the past six years. The schools, which were dilapidated , and neglected by the previous administration, led to a decline in enrollment.

Governor Akeredolu’s administration took a significant step in 2017 when he assumed office to revamp the state’s education system. The reconstruction of the primary schools was one of the key projects initiated by his administration, aimed at providing a conducive learning environment for the pupils.

The reconstructed schools now have perimeter fences, ICT centers, and playgroup equipment, while the pupils enjoy modern desks and chairs procured by the government. The governor’s efforts have also resulted in the recruitment of one thousand two hundred (1,200) teachers in the public primary schools, improving the teacher-to-pupil ratio and enhancing the quality of education.

The reconstructed schools have become a source of joy for both teachers and pupils, who now teach and learn in a comfortable and conducive environment. The improvements made by Governor Akeredolu’s administration have led to an increase in enrollment in public primary schools in the state, indicating the success of his efforts.

The Aketi Legacy, as it is popularly known, has made a significant impact on the education sector in Ondo State. Governor Akeredolu’s commitment to improving the education system in the state has earned him praise from various quarters, including educationists, parents, and stakeholders in the sector.

With the success of the reconstruction of public primary schools, Governor Akeredolu’s administration is set to continue its drive towards improving access to qualitative education in Ondo State. The Aketi Legacy will continue to shape the education sector in the state, providing a better future for the pupils and teachers alike.
