OSUSTECH Solicits Donation from Staff

The Chairman of the Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, Prof. Akinbo Adesomoju, has solicited assistance from well-meaning Nigerians towards the development of the university.

Adesomoju, who made the solicitation at the foundation laying ceremony of a students’ relaxation centre building of the university, also appealed to the members of staff and management of the institution to contribute towards the development of the university.

In his address, he said the building was donated by a former Provost of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Prof. Olukoya Ogen, and his friends who were also friends of the university.

The Chairman commended the development, stressing that Prof. Ogen and other donors had greatly challenged members of the University Governing Council to come up with their own monumental project for the institution.

He said, “Gestures we have been getting from our people are what they can benefit from the university and not what they can give to it.”

“Even a sum of N2,000 monthly or donation of materials by members of staff can make a big difference,” he added.

“Government alone must not be expected to perform all the developmental needs of the institution. Your widow’s mite will go a long way in taking the university to greater heights,” he noted.
