Popular Yoruba actress, Ronke Oshodi Oke, has raised an alarm over the alleged poisoning of her daughter while in the university. The actress narrated this in a video shared on her Instagram page that she received a call in the middle of the night that her daughter, Jummy, drank hypo and was rushed to the hospital. According to her, her daughter was taken to three different hospitals for treatment before she felt better.

Speaking in both Yoruba and English, the actress called on parents to be mindful of their children and always advise them, while also warning the school to ensure that such occurrences were avoided. She expressed concern that her daughter’s roommate or friends might have deliberately poured the poisonous substance into the water that Jummy drank.

The actress did not mention the name of the school where the incident occurred but warned that if anything similar happens to her daughter again, she won’t take it lightly. She further emphasised that she intentionally did not mention the name of the school to avoid spoiling its name.

The incident has sparked concerns among parents and guardians, who are calling on school authorities to take adequate measures to ensure the safety of their wards while in school. Many have also expressed their support for the actress and her family.

Efforts to reach out to the school for comments have been unsuccessful as at the time of filing this report. Meanwhile, Ronke Oshodi Oke has called on the school to take necessary measures to prevent a recurrence of such an incident.
