Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated the ultra-modern Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Research Centre at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Idi-Araba.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended Sir Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu, a renowned businessman and philanthropist, for his remarkable generosity and lifelong dedication to advancing education and healthcare in Nigeria.
The governor described the new facility as a milestone achievement that will transform medical research and innovation in the state and beyond.
“I commend Sir Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu for his remarkable generosity and commitment to education and healthcare. I am confident that this Research Centre will be a place where curious minds are nurtured, where ideas become breakthroughs, and where collaboration across disciplines helps us tackle real-life health challenges facing Lagos State and Nigeria at large,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
The Kesington Adebutu Research Centre, named in honour of the prominent philanthropist, is expected to serve as a hub for advanced medical research, innovation, and collaboration among scientists, scholars, and students, further strengthening UNILAG reputation as a leading institution in health sciences.
