Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated a newly constructed junior and senior secondary school facilitated by the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, in Education District IV.

The commissioning ceremony, held at the Femi Gbajabiamila Junior and Senior Secondary School, Itire-Ikate, underscores the state’s ongoing drive to expand access to quality education and modern learning facilities.

Governor Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, lauded Hon. Gbajabiamila for his steadfast contributions to the growth of education in Lagos. He noted that such collaborations with committed stakeholders continue to strengthen the administration’s efforts to improve learning outcomes across the state.

The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District IV, Mr. Bamidele Olufemi Paseda, described the school as a landmark investment in human capital development. He said the new facility will help reduce overcrowding in neighbouring schools while providing an enabling environment for academic excellence.

Paseda also reaffirmed the District’s commitment to upholding the state’s Education and Technology pillar under the THEMES Plus agenda, assuring that the infrastructure will be properly maintained for maximum impact.

Representing Hon. Gbajabiamila at the event, Hon. Lanre Okunlola, member of the House of Representatives for Surulere II Federal Constituency, reiterated the Chief of Staff’s dedication to youth empowerment and educational advancement. He urged students to take full advantage of the world-class facility and remain focused on academic and moral excellence.

The ceremony was attended by top officials, community leaders, and education stakeholders, who later toured the modern complex equipped with state-of-the-art classrooms, science laboratories, ICT centres, a library, and administrative blocks designed to meet global standards.
