The Federal Government has announced plan to consider morning and afternoon classes to reopen schools across the country.
This was disclosed by the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, during a briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Abuja.
According to him, the government could not afford to take any costly risk, regarding the safety of pupils and students in the country.
βWe may have classes in the morning and classes in the afternoon so that we will have the whole of the infrastructure divided provided they can serve us.
βI am not sure we will have classes at night. But we can do with morning and afternoon for now,β he explained.
He stated further that the ministry was being guided by the advice of experts as well as those of the World Health Organisation.
He therefore appealed to private school owners in the country to co-operate with the government in ensuring the safe reopening of schools in the country.
The FG also faulted the reports which claimed that schools would reopen in the country on June 8.
He urged local governments, proprietors and all other stakeholders to start making steps that will help in schools reopening.

This is highly commendable. The virtual launching of the Read Aloud Lagos is oneof the best innovation in the education of our children. This is because a leader is a product of what he or she reads.
