SEED Care & Support Foundation has named Samuel Badekale as its newest ambassador, a role that positions him as a powerful voice for affordable non-state education across Nigeria.

Raised in Mushin, one of Lagos State’s most vibrant neighbourhoods, his educational path was shaped by financial limitations, frequent relocations and unconventional learning environments.

Because of his parents’ modest means, Samuel attended four different low-fee private schools—often the only option for families with limited resources. His mother, a devoted teacher, nurtured his early love for learning, and tutorial centers served as essential support during critical academic years.

Despite these challenges, Samuel thrived. As part of the first graduating class of his secondary school, he had no alumni network to lean on and few examples to emulate. Yet, he carved a path of excellence, setting a benchmark for future students. “His academic story dismantles the stereotype that greatness only springs from elite institutions. It proves that brilliance can emerge from even the most resource-constrained environments,” the Foundation noted.

His success at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) didn’t just garner accolades—it opened doors. Samuel was appointed an Education Ambassador for the Ogun State Government, “further validating the limitless potential in students from affordable non-state schools.”

Beyond the classroom, Samuel has become a beacon of leadership and community development. As the founder of the SkillUp Initiative and co-founder of Students Mental Health Advocates at UNILAG, he has led campaigns for mental health awareness and student empowerment.

His involvement with the university’s Counseling Unit reflects his passion for holistic education and well-being. He also served as the licensee for TEDxIdiAraba, curating stories of innovation and resilience from within his community.

In his faith community, Samuel has long served as a mentor and role model. Over the years, he held several key leadership roles including Head of Bible Study at LP65 Junior Church, Teens and Children President at his local church and a teacher at RCCG Place of His Presence.
