Public secondary schools in Ogbomoso zone have been given a fresh incentive to strive for academic excellence, as the Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, unveiled a new reward initiative to boost educational performance.

Speaking at the 3rd edition of the town hall meeting held on Thursday at Iresaadu, headquarters of Surulere Local Government, Oba Olaoye announced that public schools with the best WAEC results in each of the five local government areas in Ogbomoso zone will receive a cash gift of N1 million.

“We are instituting a reward initiative to encourage our teachers to teach their students and encourage excellence,” the monarch stated.

He emphasized the importance of education in shaping the future of Ogbomoso youths, urging both educators and parents to commit to the academic advancement of the younger generation.

“The school with the best result in each of the five local governments in Ogbomoso zone will be awarded a sum of N1m. It is to encourage our teachers to teach the students to attain excellence,” the Oba reiterated.
“Education is crucial and we want our children in Ogbomoso to pursue education to higher level. It is only through this they can have a chance at sitting at decision-making tables in the future. We detest them manning the gates or entrance doors. Parents especially mothers should give their all to ensure their children are serious and well educated.”

The initiative, aimed at fostering a culture of academic achievement, is expected to energize both teachers and students while reinforcing the community’s commitment to education.
