The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District II, Mr. Omotayo Layemo Sanni, has commended staff and students of Eva Adelaja Junior and Senior Girls’ Secondary Schools for their remarkable achievements during the Awards and Prize Giving Day Ceremony held in Lagos.
The event, themed “Honouring Efforts, Embracing Growth: Empowering Future Leaders,” was organised to recognise the outstanding contributions of both teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as to celebrate the exceptional academic performances of students.
Eva Adelaja Girls’ Junior Secondary School was recently named the Best Junior School in Nigeria at the 2024 Presidential Award and also honoured as the Outstanding Educational Institution of 2025 by the National Productivity Centre, Abuja. Similarly, Eva Adelaja Senior Girls’ Secondary School emerged as the Second Best Senior Secondary School in Nigeria at the 2025 Presidential Award of Excellence.
In his remarks, Mr. Sanni praised the schools’ administrators, staff, and students for their dedication to excellence and urged them to keep raising the bar.
“Every act of excellence deserves to be celebrated,” he said. “When we honour hard work, we inspire others to strive for greatness and build a culture of continuous growth.”
He congratulated all award recipients for their performance and reminded them that “greater heights await those who remain diligent and committed to their goals.”
The Guest Speaker, Mr. Taofik Gbadebo Ajibade, retired Head of Education Quality Assurance, commended the organisers for sustaining a culture of recognition and excellence. He applauded the teachers for their daily sacrifices, saying, “Thank you for your tireless efforts. You labour daily to plant seeds of knowledge, character and confidence in these young minds. Your sacrifices are not unnoticed.”
Both principals of the Junior and Senior Schools expressed appreciation to the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary and the District for their continuous support, noting that the District’s commitment to staff motivation and student development has been key to the schools’ consistent success.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to outstanding students, dedicated teachers, and exemplary non-teaching staff. Attendees also enjoyed cultural performances, music, and poetry, making the day a vibrant celebration of excellence, hard work, and shared purpose in education.
