The Generous Man

Once upon a time, a boy used to beg for money because his parents were poor. One day, the boy was wandering round his street. He stumbled on a competition. He loved to participate in the competition. But he had no money and his parents could not help either.
The boy began to cry profusely. Passersby wondered what would have caused the boy’s action. Soon, a man walked up to him. He demanded to know what had happened to the boy. “What is the problem, my boy?” the man asked. The boy was now sobering. “I am interested in a competition coming up next week, but my parents cannot afford to get me registered for the competition,” the boy explained. His explanation brought out tears from the man. “Can you go with me to my house?” the man asked. The boy nodded in the affirmative.
They left for the man’s house. Some minutes later, the boy was at the man’s house. He was given the money for the competition. The man also added extra money for the boy to spend at the competition. After that, the boy breezed out of the man’s house and raced home. His mother was outside when he got home. He greeted happily. The mother was wondering why her son was beaming with smiles. The boy sat his mother down and explained things
to the mother. She was glad to hear the good news. She prayed heartily for the generous man.

The boy participated in the competition and a week after the result was announced. It was announced that he took the first position. When the news got to his family, it was a cry of joy as the mother was rolling on the floor, thanking God and the generous man who helped her son. The organiser of the competition visited the boy’s home to announce the prize for his excellent performance. It was another joy when he was awarded a full scholarship to University and a good job after his university education. He was also given a cash prize of 1000,000 naira.
That was how the boy’s and his parents’ lives changed!
He and his parents visited the generous man to thank him for his assistance. “If God has not used you, this would not have happened,” the boy’s mother said. “Let us give thanks to God Almighty,” the man replied. He hugged the man and advised him to remain focused.
