Three Saudi students have won 3 international awards in their first participation in the European Girlsโ Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI 2022).
The second edition of EGOI 2022 was held in Turkey from Oct.16-23, 2022, with the participation of over 164 female students representing 43 countries.
King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) Secretary-General Amal Al-Hazaa stressed that the Ministry of Education and Mawhiba are keen to train the Saudi teams participating in international Olympiads on the hands of Saudi and international specialists and coaches.
According to the results announced on Saturday, the student, Lin Qanash, grade 11 from the Jeddah Education Department, achieved a silver medal, after a journey of preparation and training in Mawhiba that amounted to 1,266 hours.
Joury Al-Jehani, grade 11 from the Department of Education in Madinah, won a bronze medal after obtaining 1,266 hours of training in Mawhiba.
Zouf Baaqil from the Jeddah Education Department won a bronze medal, after receiving 938 hours of training in Mawhiba.
