UDUS releases names of electoral committee ahead of SU election

The management of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has released the names of Students’ Union Electoral Committee members ahead of the union’s elections for the 2022/2023 academic session.

This was contained in a circular obtained by Edugist, released on Monday, May 15 and signed by the Dean Students Affairs, Prof. Umar Aliyu.

The committee, according to the circular, was formed in pursuant of the approval of the university management that the SU Electoral Committee should be constituted.

Their term and reference shall be stipulated by the University Students Handbook.

The members include Bashir Mohammed Achida, Abdullahi Abubakar Ngaske, Dr. Bashir Saidu, Onyi Micah, Bashir Shuaibu Musa, Mercy Kolo, Muhammad Mansur Abubakar, Gazzali Rabiu, Mansur Bashir, Fatima Abdullahi Tukura, Adam Ismail Aliyu and Anafi Kaosurah Damilola.

Recall that UDUS did not conduct the SU Election for the 2020/2021 academic session following the outbreak of Covid-19 and the nine months industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The management’s stance constituted a caretaker committee to run the affairs of the union.
