The Director, Centre for Distance Learning and Continuing Education (CDL &CE) at the University of Abuja, Professor Bello Ayuba, has been appointed a member of the National Universities Commission (NUC) committee to review four ODel guidelines.
This was disclosed in a statement on Friday February 17, 2023.
According to the statement, Prof Ayu will be working along with 10 others to review the NUC ODel guidelines.
“They will make sure the guidelines are made”l very explicit and unambiguous in lsuch a manner that they can uphold the sanctity of NUC’s extant regulatory framework, consistent with the recently launched Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards ( CCMAS) and emerging global trends,” the statement read.
It add that “The review will focus on the guidelines for the establishment of Private Open Universities, the approved guidelines on Transnational Education (TNE), guidelines on e-learning on Nigerian universities, and Open Educational Resources (OER).”
Congratulating Ayuba on his appointment, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah, noted that the University was proud of him, and had confidence that he would no doubt bring his wealth of experience to bear on the assignment.
