The University of Jos branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities has directed its members to proceed on strike, due to the non-payment of June 2025 salaries.
The chairman of ASUU in the institution, Prof Jurbe Molwus, gave the directive in a message he circulated to members of the union on Thursday night.
The message read: “This is to request all members to abstain from lectures and statutory meetings if our salary for the month of June 2025 is not paid by 11:59 pm today, 3rd July 2025.
“This is in line with the extant NEC resolution that branches should take action when salary is not paid by the third day of a new month and our congress resolution of 4th June 2025 affirming this position.
“The action takes effect from 12:01 am on Friday, 4th July 2025.
“Please ensure full compliance until you are communicated to resume work.
“The strike monitoring team of the branch will be activated to monitor compliance.”
