UNILAG secures Coursera license to enhance student skills

In a bid to empower students with essential skills, contemporary knowledge, and valuable certifications to bolster employability, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Administration has secured licenses for students to access free online training via Coursera.

UNILAG invites students to explore the diverse range of courses and seize the opportunity to enhance their skills and prospects. These courses are designed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge applicable to a rapidly evolving job market. The courses also aim to enhance students’ personal and professional growth, enabling them to excel in various fields.

By providing access to these courses, UNILAG is committed to fostering a learning environment that promotes skill acquisition and career development.

This initiative, known as the Free Coursera Courses for Students Project, has received sponsorship from the African Engineering and Technology Network (AFRETEC), with funding provided by the MasterCard Foundation. AFRETEC is a consortium of six prominent African universities dedicated to promoting inclusive digital transformation across the continent. The consortium comprises the University of Lagos, Nigeria; American University, Cairo, Egypt; University of Nairobi, Kenya; University of Rwanda, Kigali; and Carnegie Mellon University, Kigali.

Registration procedure and duration

For registration and selection of preferred courses, students are invited to visit this online portal. The duration allowed for participation is four (4) weeks.
