The University of Port Harcourt has appointed three new Deputy Vice-Chancellors during its 488th Extraordinary Senate Meeting held earlier today.

The appointments follow the conclusion of tenure for the previous office holders.

In a move reflecting the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and leadership continuity, the Senate elected:

Professor Chukwudi Onyeasor as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), succeeding his predecessor after a successful term.

Professor Rosemary Ogu as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), recognised for her outstanding service and contributions to the university and broader academic community.

Professor Angela Frank-Briggs as Deputy Vice-Chancellor. Her specific portfolio will be announced in due course.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Owunari Abraham Georgewill congratulated the appointees and expressed confidence in their capacity to support the university’s strategic goals and uphold its high academic standards.

“These appointments are part of our routine leadership transition, in line with our core values of continuity, excellence, and effective governance,” the university said in a statement.
