Varsity to induct pioneer nursing graduates

McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, is set for the inaugural induction ceremony of the first set of nursing graduates into the Nursing Profession.

A statement by the school said the event would be held at the University’s Multipurpose Hall on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

“It is expected to attract relevant stakeholders in the education sector, friends of the University from all walks of life, and the  Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

“A lecturer at the Department of Community Health  Nursing, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Dr Dorothy Odetola will be speaking on, ‘Advancing Frontiers In Nursing Education And Practice: Effect of Japa Syndrome On Sub-Saharan Africa,’ because of the national concern for brain drain,” it read.

It added that the Registrar, of the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Dr Faruk Abubakar, was expected at the occasion, where the fresh graduates would be inducted into the Nursing Profession as Registered Nurses.

“It is on record that the University’s first set of Nursing graduates came out with flying colours in the Nursing Council Examination held recently, which is an attestation of her commitment to building a new generation of nurses that would impact positively the global community,” it read.
