The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and various stakeholders have officially scheduled June 24 as the date to finalize the cut-off mark for admissions into universities, polytechnics, and other tertiary institutions for the year 2023.
In the latest JAMB weekly bulletin, Fabian Benjamin, the Director of Public Affairs at JAMB, announced that the decision-making event will take place at the National Judicial Institute.
The bulletin stated that heads of tertiary institutions and regulatory bodies such as the National Universities Commission, National Board for Technical Education, and National Commission for Colleges of Education, among others, will be in attendance.
The bulletin emphasised that each tertiary institution will be represented by two individuals: the Head of the Institution and a nominated official.
“The meeting will address various crucial matters, including the presentation of the Registrar, JAMB, on the recently concluded UTME, as well as other significant issues pertaining to the education sector,” it read.
The policy meeting aims to establish policy directions for tertiary institutions in the country, outline admission guidelines, analyse application statistics and candidates’ performance, and evaluate the 2023 admission exercise.
The bulletin stated, “The policy meeting will also determine the minimum admissible score applicable to all admissions conducted by tertiary institutions in Nigeria.”
