In anticipation of the resumption of academic activities for the 2023/2024 academic session, all public and private primary, secondary, and technical schools in the state are gearing up to open their doors once again on Monday, 6th May 2024.

The state government of Akwa Ibom has issued directives for the resumption of schools for the Third Term of the 2023/2024 academic session, following an unforeseen delay.

Parents and guardians are urged to ensure that their children and wards return to school promptly on the specified date, equipped with all necessary educational materials to facilitate a smooth transition back to learning. With academic activities set to commence immediately, students must be prepared to dive into their studies from the onset.

To ensure a seamless start to the term, heads of schools are required to reconvene at least three working days before the resumption date for a pre-resumption meeting with their staff. This preparatory session, mandated by the State Government, aims to further equip educators with the tools and strategies necessary for a successful term ahead.

As the term unfolds, school management and teachers are reminded of the importance of diligence in fulfilling their responsibilities and adhering to the prescribed curriculum. Any instances of tardiness or misconduct will not be tolerated, with the government emphasizing the need for strict compliance with regulations.

In a statement issued by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs Idongesit Etiebet, and endorsed by the Ministry of Education on behalf of the State Government, all pupils, students, and teachers are wished a fruitful and successful academic session ahead.

Lady Rose N. Bassey, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the collective commitment to fostering an environment conducive to learning and academic excellence.

As schools prepare to welcome students back into the classrooms, the focus remains on nurturing the next generation of leaders and scholars, ensuring that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world.
