The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially launched the accreditation process for Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), according to a recent statement from JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

In the announcement, JAMB detailed new requirements and procedures for both established and new CBT centres, aiming to ensure a seamless experience for candidates. “All new Computer-Based Test centres who desire to participate in the 2025 UTME exercise are to first visit https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Pdfs/CBT_centre_requirements.pdf to avail themselves of the requirements for establishing a JAMB-approved CBT centre,” the statement said.

For centres that were successfully accredited and operated without issues during the 2024 UTME, the process has been streamlined. “Established centres that were successfully accredited and participated in the 2024 UTME without any issues should proceed to register their interest through the Centre Management System Portal,” the statement advised.

Additionally, zonal and state offices are responsible for facilitating the registration of new centres. “The Zonal and State Offices will create accounts for new centres on the CMS Portal to facilitate their registration,” the statement explained.

JAMB has also introduced a mandatory Autobot/autotest phase that each centre must pass before a physical accreditation visit. “All centres must conduct an Autobot/Autotest on a date that will be communicated to them, as part of their preparation for the physical accreditation visit by the Board’s team,” Dr. Benjamin said. This test will serve as an initial qualifying stage, and only centres that pass will be eligible for further evaluation.

“It is essential to note that the Autobot/Autotest is mandatory; only centres that complete this test and meet the necessary criteria will be eligible for a physical visit,” JAMB emphasized. The final accreditation visits are scheduled for December 2024, with centres that meet all requirements included in the list of approved centres for the 2025 UTME.

“Centres that meet all stipulated requirements will be approved and included by the Board for the 2025 UTME registration and examination,” the statement concluded.

Centres failing to meet the necessary standards will not be reconsidered, highlighting JAMB’s commitment to maintaining high-quality testing environments for Nigerian students.
