Fountain University has hosted its first-ever international conference on the theme “Navigating the Dynamics of Religion, Politics, Ethnicity, and Youth for Peace and Development.”
The event, spearheaded by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ramota Karim, represents a pioneering effort to address global challenges by uniting scholarly inquiry with ethical and spiritual values.
Prof. Karim’s opening remarks set the tone for the conference, highlighting the university’s commitment to inspiring collaborative research and creating actionable strategies for societal betterment.
“Our collaboration bridges the academic and spiritual missions of both institutions, offering a holistic framework for understanding and addressing contemporary challenges,” she stated, underscoring the significance of the university’s partnership with the Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) and its Missionary Institute (NMI).

“As a faith-based institution, we are deeply committed to academic excellence rooted in Islamic values. We encourage our students to embrace both worldly knowledge and spiritual growth,” she said, sharing that an increasing number of students participate in the Madrasah program to refine their Qur’anic recitation.
She added, “Last year, we celebrated the Walimatul Qur’an of nine students and look forward to the next edition during our upcoming convocation ceremonies.”
The Vice-Chancellor also celebrated recent academic milestones, including the forthcoming induction ceremonies for the Departments of Nursing Science and Medical Laboratory Science. “Alhamdulillah, our students achieved a 100% success rate in their recent professional qualifying examinations, a testament to our commitment to excellence,” she said proudly.
