The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially set the registration date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE), confirming that the process will begin on January 31, 2025.
This announcement follows a roundtable meeting with key stakeholders, including financial institutions, on January 24, led by Mufutau Bello, JAMB’s Director of Finance and Accounts.
Registration for the UTME will close on March 5, 2025, at all JAMB-accredited computer-based testing (CBT) centres across the country, while Direct Entry application documents will be available from March 10 to April 7, 2025.
Bello also highlighted that the expression of interest for the mock UTME would close on February 23, with the mock exam scheduled for April 5, 2025. The main UTME will take place from April 25 to May 5, 2025.
In a significant shift for 2025, JAMB will introduce a mock examination for underage candidates as part of their preparation for future UTME participation.
Bello explained, “Any candidate who would not be 16 years old as of 30th September 2025 would not be eligible to sit the 2025 UTME. They can, however, participate in the mock UTME as a hands-on experience before their full participation once they come of age.”
The registration process will be conducted through JAMB’s professional registration centres (PRCs), and candidates will be required to select from four types of e-PINs based on their needs: the Mock Only Trial Testing for underage candidates at N3,500, Direct Entry application at N5,700, UTME only without mock UTME at N7,200, and UTME with mock UTME at N8,700. Bello also provided a detailed breakdown of the application costs, including the JAMB fee, reading texts, and various CBT charges, all payable via virtual transactions.
Candidates are urged to carefully follow the registration timeline and be aware of the updated guidelines for a smooth and successful application process for the 2025 UTME and DE.
