The International Youth Math Challenge (IYMC) 2024 is now accepting applications from high school and university students worldwide. This prominent online math competition offers participants the chance to showcase their mathematical skills, creativity, and knowledge while competing for awards and cash prizes totaling over $700.
Benefits:
Participants in the IYMC can earn a variety of certificates, honours, and cash prizes. Every participant will receive an Official Participation Certificate, while those advancing to the final round will be eligible for Bronze, Silver, or Gold Honours. The competition offers specific category prizes, including $150, $100, and $50 cash prizes for the top three finalists in both the Youth and Junior categories. Additionally, the best participants from each country will receive national awards, and schools with exceptional participation and performance will be recognized with IYMC School Awards.
Eligibility:
The IYMC competition is open to all high school and university students. The selection process unfolds across three rounds: the Qualification Round, the Pre-Final Round, and the Final Round. In the Qualification Round, participants must solve five math problems, with the required number of correct answers varying based on age. Successful candidates from this round advance to the Pre-Final Round, where they face eight more challenging problems. Finalists will then participate in a 20-minute online exam.
Application process:
To participate in the IYMC 2024, students must complete the online application and submit their solutions for the Qualification Round by December 15, 2024. The top-performing students will move on to the subsequent rounds. All participants, regardless of advancement, will receive certificates recognizing their efforts in the competition. Apply here.
