Swansea University has launched its 2024 International Postgraduate Research Excellence Scholarships (SUIPRES), offering a remarkable opportunity for outstanding international PhD and Professional Doctorate candidates to advance their academic pursuits at one of the UK’s top institutions.

The SUIPRES scholarship significantly eases the financial burden for successful candidates by covering the difference between international and home tuition fees. For the 2024/25 academic year, this means paying the UK rate of £4,786, subject to an annual increase of approximately 3% in line with UKRI regulations. This adjustment will be automatically applied to the tuition fees of successful applicants, allowing them to focus on their research without financial stress.
Eligibility:
To qualify for the SUIPRES scholarship, candidates must meet specific criteria. Applicants must be applying for an eligible PhD or Professional Doctorate program at Swansea University and must be classified as international students for tuition fee purposes. Academic requirements include achieving, or expecting to achieve, a first class or upper second class (2:1) undergraduate degree, or a Distinction in a master’s degree from the UK or an equivalent international qualification. Current PhD or Professional Doctorate students, those transferring or returning, and candidates fully sponsored by a third party are not eligible. The scholarship is also not applicable to Master’s level studies.
