Breaking: School collapses during exams in Jos, students trapped

A tragic incident unfolded today in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State as a school building collapsed, trapping numerous students who were writing exams. The collapse occurred at Saint Academy in the Busa Buji community around 11 am on Friday.

Distraught witnesses reported the sudden collapse of the building, prompting an immediate response from rescue teams and security personnel, including soldiers and police. Despite efforts, rescue operations faced challenges, with a truck intended for the scene getting stuck in the mud.

While there are unverified reports of fatalities among those trapped, some injured students have been swiftly transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention. The affected section of the school housed classes for SS1, SS2, and SS3 students.

Parents and onlookers gathered at the site, overwhelmed with grief and concern as the situation unfolded. At this time, the full extent of the tragedy remains unclear, pending further updates from authorities.
