Yusuf Sununu, the Minister of State for Education, has publicly lauded the exceptional achievements of Nigerian students from Kwara, Katsina, and Benue States.

These students have brought international acclaim to the nation by emerging victorious in prestigious debate competitions held in Indonesia, Singapore, and Dubai.

In a ceremony filled with national pride and heartfelt commendations, Sununu underscored the pivotal role that Nigerian youth play in elevating the country’s global standing. He emphasised the importance of a holistic educational approach that integrates knowledge acquisition, character development, and skill enhancement.

This, he noted, is essential for nurturing well-rounded individuals capable of competing and excelling on the world stage.

Sununu extended his gratitude to the dedicated coaches, supportive government bodies, corporate sponsors, and the parents who have been instrumental in the students’ journeys to success.

He remarked, “These victories are a testament to the potential that lies within our youth and the efficacy of a comprehensive educational framework. It is a collective achievement that we all should be proud of.”

Miss Ene Aduba from Benue State, one of the celebrated champions, expressed her profound gratitude to God, the Government, and all stakeholders involved in their success. In her poignant speech, she called for increased parental awareness campaigns, emphasizing the crucial role of the Ministry of Education in not only showcasing Nigeria’s global talents but also ensuring safe and conducive learning environments for all students.

This celebration marks a significant milestone in recognizing and promoting academic excellence within Nigeria. It serves as an inspiration to other students across the nation, encouraging them to strive for greatness and contribute positively to the country’s international reputation.

Sununu reiterated the Government’s commitment to supporting educational initiatives that foster talent and build the nation’s intellectual capital. The achievements of these young debaters are a shining example of what can be accomplished with dedication, support, and a robust educational system.
