The newly constructed ICT Hub at Oba Abass Aleshinloye Secondary School in Eleyele, Ibadan, has officially opened its doors. This initiative, led by Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology, and Cybersecurity, marks a pivotal step in enhancing digital literacy among students.
Facilitated by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the ICT Hub aligns with the Oyo State government’s vision to broaden access to technology and elevate educational outcomes across the region. Tolu Mustapha, Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to Hon. Olajide, emphasized that the project reflects the representative’s commitment to improving educational infrastructure and ensuring students are equipped for the challenges of the 21st century.
“In today’s digital age, it is imperative that our students have access to the necessary tools and resources that will equip them for future challenges,” Mustapha stated. He highlighted that the ICT Hub, featuring modern computers, high-speed internet, and various software tools, is designed to support both academic and extracurricular activities.
“This ICT Hub is not just a facility; it is a gateway to opportunities that will empower our youths and provide them with the skills needed to thrive in a technology-driven world,” he added.
The Hub aims to benefit not only students of Oba Abass Aleshinloye Secondary School but also those from neighboring schools, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Plans are underway to organize workshops and training sessions for both students and teachers, ensuring the effective utilization of the available resources.
This development promises to enhance educational access and equip the next generation with essential digital skills, paving the way for a more informed and technologically adept community.
