A student studying Industrial Mathematics at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA), Samuel Emmanuel Oluwapelumi, has completed an astounding four-day Math-A-Thon in his quest to break the Guinness world record of the longest hours of teaching mathematics.

Edugist learnt that Samuel commenced his arithmetic marathon endeavour on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the T.I Francis Auditorium on the FUTA campus.

Today, he concluded his extraordinary mathematical journey precisely at 12:04 on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

Throughout the arduous four-day event, Oluwapelumi tirelessly conducted mathematics tutorials, day and night, with only brief intermissions for rest.

His unwavering determination and commitment to the subject captivated the attention and admiration of his peers, who rallied around him with unwavering support.

The university administration also played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the Math-A-Thon, providing comprehensive medical support, including a standby ambulance, to monitor Oluwapelumi’s well-being throughout the event.

Following his remarkable achievement, an elated Oluwapelumi is now taking a well-deserved rest under the careful supervision of medical personnel from the university.

His dedication to the field of mathematics and his resilience in the face of such a daunting challenge serve as an inspiration to students and academics alike.
