The Kano State government has declared a state of emergency in education.

To spearhead this initiative, a pivotal conference titled “Education Recovery” was organised, focusing on the theme, “Repositioning Education in Kano: Navigating the Path to Excellence.”

This landmark event brought together a diverse array of stakeholders, agencies, and experts to collaboratively tackle the pressing issues facing the sector.

Organizations that actively participated in the conference included the Concerned Parents and Educators Initiative group (CPE), founded by Yinka Ogunde. Representing CPE were Olubunmi Adewakun and another distinguished member of the organization.

Their presentation, “Addressing Teachers’ Shortages and Teachers’ Welfare Through Community Partnerships Towards Education Recovery,” highlighted innovative strategies to ameliorate the critical shortages of teachers and improve their welfare through robust community partnerships.

Over the course of the two-day conference, high-level collaboration and dynamic discussions took place, with various speakers and key players from the education community offering a wealth of submissions, suggestions, and actionable recommendations.

The aim was to forge a comprehensive path to educational recovery that would elevate the standards and outcomes of education in Kano State.

The conference culminated in the issuance of a communique, encapsulating the collective insights and proposed strategies discussed.

This document serves as a guiding framework for the ongoing efforts to rejuvenate the education sector in Kano, ensuring that the path to excellence is navigated with precision, collaboration, and unwavering commitment.
