The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Katsina has advocated for the recruitment of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) teachers.
The call was made by Musa Daniel-Danladi, the secretary of the association, during a recent interview with journalists in Katsina.
Daniel-Danladi emphasized the importance of enhancing teaching and instilling sound morals, particularly in public schools in the southern part of the state, where there is a notable Christian population.
The secretary urged the state government, led by Governor Dikko Radda, to prioritize the appointment of CRK teachers to positively impact the ethical development of students.
Furthermore, CAN expressed the need for the appointment of an indigenous Christian as a special assistant (SA) on Christian affairs in the state.
Daniel-Danladi highlighted that this practice had been observed under the previous All Progressive Congress (APC) administration.
Commending Governor Radda’s efforts in addressing insecurity, the CAN secretary acknowledged the state government’s success in ensuring the safety of Christians during the Christmas celebrations.
He praised the administration for its proactive measures, stating that no Christians were reported in the hands of kidnappers, and there had been a significant decrease in attacks, with bandits being actively pursued.
Daniel-Danladi called on Christians to join in prayers for peace, unity, and progress in Katsina state and Nigeria as a whole.
