The Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin has withdraw the Higher National Diploma (HND) certificate of AbdulRasheed Zubair Olatunji, a student in the Public Administration Department, due to his alleged participation in cultism.
The institution’s management, as stated by Deputy Registrar Olayemi Olatomi, deemed it necessary to revoke the certificate because it contradicts the matriculation oath he had taken.
AbdulRasheed Zubair Olatunji, a second-year HND student at the state-owned polytechnic, will also not be eligible for the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), according to the official statement.
The statement read, “The Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has officially withdrawn the Higher National Diploma Certificate of AbdulRasheed Zubair Olatunji, a student in the Public Administration Department, for his involvement in cultism, which goes against the matriculation oath he had taken.”
It added, “This decision was made based on the report submitted by the Polytechnic’s Students’ Disciplinary Committee.
“AbdulRasheed’s involvement in cultism indicates that he lacks the character and integrity required to obtain the institution’s certificate.”
“As a result, AbdulRasheed’s mobilization for the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has been suspended,” the statement concluded.
The management of the institution emphasized its strong stance against cultism and urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant about the activities of their wards.
