Lagos State has officially launched registration for the 2025 Universal Basic Education (UBE) by Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS) and placement test, which will run from January 27 to April 18, 2025.
The announcement was made by Mr. Orunsolu Adebayo, Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, in a circular addressed to parents, guardians, head teachers, and proprietors of primary six pupils transitioning into junior secondary schools (JSS).
Adebayo clarified that the test is open to primary 6 pupils from both public and approved private schools in the state. “Registration is free for public primary schools, while pupils of approved private primary schools are expected to pay the sum of N5,000 per candidate, through the Lagos State Central Billing System (CBS),” he said.
In addition, Yoruba language has been included as one of the subjects to assess the knowledge and reasoning abilities of pupils. Adebayo urged school authorities to ensure that parents and guardians are informed about the registration process, which is crucial for their children’s participation.
Reassuring stakeholders, he emphasized that no child would be left behind and that arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth and efficient registration process.
