The Lagos State Police Command has arrested the principal and a teacher of Okota Junior Grammar School over the brutal assault of a 15-year-old student, which resulted in the loss of three of his teeth.
The suspects, identified as Kayode Abolarin and Atueyin Martins, were taken into custody following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother at the Isolo Police Division around 11 a.m. on March 11, 2025.
Confirming the arrests, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that investigations were in full swing to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
“Upon receiving the report, the police promptly arrested the suspects. They are currently assisting in the investigation, which centers on the incident that occurred within the school premises,” Hundeyin disclosed in a statement on Tuesday.
Assuring the public of a thorough investigation, he added, “The Lagos State Police Command guarantees that justice will be served. The suspects will be arraigned accordingly upon the conclusion of investigations.”
Meanwhile, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has reaffirmed the command’s unwavering commitment to justice and public safety.
“The command remains dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents. We will continue to treat all criminal matters with the urgency and professionalism they deserve,” he stated.
