McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State has got full accreditation status for Nursing Science
This was contained in a letter to the vice chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, and signed by the deputy director, Programmes Accreditation, Mr S.S Ikani, on behalf of the executive secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Professor Abubakar Adamu Rasheed.
Other three courses that got full accreditation include English, Religious Studiesband International Relations.
The letter, dated March 9, 2023 and the titled, ‘Results of the November/December, 2022 Accreditation of Academic Programmes in Nigerian universities’ communicated the accreditation from NUC which has the statutory mandate to accredit academic programmes in all Nigerian universities.
In his response, vice chancellor of the institution, Professor Igbasan appreciated the commission for the accreditation granted to the institution, saying, “for us, it is a call for more work, as we are poised to constantly pursue excellence, integrity and service, which are the hallmarks of our university.”
“With this development, McPherson University has been given more impetus to seek the verification of more courses, including Pharmacy, Law in the next academic session,” he added.
According to the NUC, the full accreditation status will be for five years.
