EDE, OSUN STATE – In a significant boost to technology education and digital innovation in Nigeria, New Horizons Systems Solutions Limited has commissioned a state-of-the-art ICT facility at Adeleke University, Ede.

The facility, named the Elder (Dr.) Egbuta ICT centre was constructed and donated by the organisation to reposition the institution as a leading hub for 21st-century digital skills.

The donation is part of a strategic commitment by New Horizons Nigeria, a subsidiary of New Horizons Worldwide, to equip Nigerian universities with the high-grade infrastructure necessary to produce graduates who are competitive in the global digital economy.

The Elder (Dr.) Egbuta ICT Centre is designed to serve as a nerve centre for advanced technological training, ranging from software engineering to cybersecurity and data analytics.

By providing students with direct access to modern hardware and licensed software, the centre aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and industry requirements.

During the unveiling ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of Adeleke University, Professor Solomon Adebola, praised New Horizons for its consistent contributions to the institution.

He noted that the empowerment of Nigerian youths through practical digital training remains the most effective way to tackle unemployment and drive national development.

The university leadership reaffirmed its commitment to the partnership, emphasising that the council will continue to support initiatives that integrate technology into every facet of the learning experience.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of New Horizons Nigeria, Mr Tim Akano, expressed his appreciation to the university’s governing council for their enduring collaboration.

He noted that the donation of the Elder (Dr.) Egbuta ICT Centre is a testament to the company’s belief in the potential of Nigerian students to lead the global tech revolution if given the right tools.

The commissioning of this facility marks another milestone in the Digital Nigeria agenda, ensuring that students in Osun State have access to the same technological resources as their peers in the world’s leading tech capitals.
