Osun governor suspends Odetayo as OSPOLY rector, appoints Adeyemi

The Governor of Osun, Senator Ademola Adeleke has suspended the rector of Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Dr. Tajudeen Odetayo over alleged financial recklessness, corruption, misappropriation of funds and abuse of office.

The governor however announced M Alabi Kehinde Adeyemi as the new acting rector of the institution.

This was revealed in a statement on Monday signed by the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Education, M.A.K Jimoh.

According to the statement which was dated July 11, 2023, the Rector was suspended over the allegations of financial recklessness, corruption, misappropriation of funds and abuse of office.

In the same vein, the Governor of Osun state, Ademola Adeleke has approved the appointment of Mr Alabi Kehinde Adeyemi as the Acting Rector of the Institution.

Odetayo has however been directed to step aside pending the time the allegations against him are properly investigated by relevant bodies
