Osun State University has officially received ₦218,954,500.00 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to cover the institutional fees of 717 students. The fund, which was disbursed to the university, is part of a national initiative aimed at ensuring that students, regardless of their financial backgrounds, have access to quality higher education.
In a statement issued by the university’s management, they expressed their gratitude to NELFUND for the timely intervention, noting that the funding will significantly alleviate the financial burden on students who might have otherwise struggled to meet their fee obligations. The university also assured students that the funds would be properly allocated to ensure a smooth academic experience for the beneficiaries.
The Vice-Chancellor, in his remarks, urged other organizations and governmental bodies to follow NELFUND’s example, emphasizing the importance of collaborations in supporting education. He further encouraged students to make the most of the opportunity, reiterating the institution’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for all.
